Check This Out : Another Fun Print

To add to our small collection of bicycle themed art, I bought this yesterday.

My hubby, the cycling fanatic and twitter extraordinaire , sent me a tweet link to this print. With the power of Paypal, it is ordered.

Can't wait to add it to this:

I have plans for a gallery wall that is dedicated to bicycles in our family room. I am slowly collecting art and photographs.

Here is a photo I took while thrifting with Carol from The Design Pages and with the power of Picnik I now have this:

On a side note, not bicycle related...

School is finally out and last night my husband and I put the three kids on a plane to visit their grandparents on their 350 acre farm.

Kid free for a WEEK!

So today I am painting...

And getting ready for the long weekend!

~How I Spent my Canada Day~

We enjoyed our Canada Day, even though it was unseasonably cold, watching my husband race in the Yaletown Grand Prix

Yaletown is a chic area of Vancouver where you can find amazing restaurants, clothing stores and decor shops.

Did I mention my husband was a bike fanatic? He loves the rush that cycling gives him, the speed and the chase, we cheered him on while we enjoyed great food in a delicious BBQ eatery and popped into a few clothing (and much to my son's dismay) and decor stores.

I was saddened to find The Cross, one of my favourite decor shops was closed, so I had to smoosh my face into the window and sigh longingly at the wonderful items displayed.

But what really caught my attention was this window display!

No, not Bernstein & Gold ! What is this Yaletown interior design firm and shop seen in many of the fashionable homes that grace Canadian publications thinking?

You are not helping my cause!

I am beginning to think I am fighting a lost cause.

Sigh...

~Don't Show This To My Husband~

As I was browsing through design*sponge this morning, I stumbled across this Toronto home. The home belongs to artist Courtenay Wotherspoon. What almost made me fall off the chair is this photo of her gorgeous entryway.

I am married to a bike FANATIC, who cycles every chance he gets, collects bicycles to the point that one lives in my family room (it migrated from our bedroom). It is a bone of contention. He thinks I should incorporate it into our home design.

This photo should NOT be shown to him!

I love Courtenay's quirky sense of style and her home. In this space, she successfully marries the heritage staircase with an Ikea console, vintage framed mirror, Starck ghost chair and the practical bicycle as art. Isn't the archway to die for?

LOVE it!
(except we will still keep this photo away from my husband, this could help his cause)
