A Fabulous Rast Hack

Hello and good morning.

Last night was so exciting and fabulous. I will tell you all about it next week!

On another note, my "baby" girl turned 17 yesterday. She isn't much of a baby anymore, she graduates this year and at 6 feet tall she is so stunningly beautiful. 

We have also starting the process of university selection and scholarship applications, so daunting and exciting at the same time!

But.....

today I bring you an Ikea Rast hack that a reader emailed to me. 

Jacob, who should have a blog, sent me these photos of a Rast hack he made inspired by Miss Mustard Seed's Union Jack dresser!

This is his version! You would never know that they started out as a plain Rast dresser!

Monday, Monday and another Rast Hack

Can you believe it? I am actually posting today! Shocking as my posts have been pathetically sporadic. But this lady has been holidaying and enjoy summer! 

Yes, I am on vacation again this week. 

Life is rough...

This time our family is hanging out at a lake with my husband's family. We rented a lake house and I am going to be a lady of leisure this week. The plan is to work on my tan, hit a few wineries, read decor magazines and a good book. 

Any suggestions for a good book? { I have read "The Help"}

Do you find vacationing gets in the way of projects? I have NOT accomplished much in the decor department. Hoping to tackle the list when I get back. 

But others are keeping busy this summer. A reader, Laura from Rambling Along, emailed me her latest project, a fantastic Ikea Rast hack! Love how she omitted the top drawer and turn it into a shelf. Her mix of colour, pattern and fabric makes the Rast dresser look fantastic!

{ikea rast hack round-up}

I love a good Ikea Rast hack, taking this humble plain Jane {no offence to Jane} dresser to a one-of-a-kind piece.

It is so inexpensive, made from solid wood, has clean lines and a flat front that lends itself to being hacked and re-created into something beautiful.

Since I tackled one recently and my blogging friend Nancy from Marcus Design just revealed her creation, I felt it was fitting to share with you the many ways a Rast can be hacked!

Here is my hack using black paint, silver leaf and crystal knobs
